The last day we were in San Blas, we went to the beach. We went late afternoon and I got eaten up by sand flies. There is a Spanish name for them (which I can't remember), but Dalena says in the States, they're known as no see'ems. You really do NOT see the little boogers and don't know they're even around, UNTIL they bite you! Their bite stings! We wore repellant, but apparantly not enough! I think I got it the worst. I knew I had been bitten, but I didn't get this reaction until about five days after we got home. I ended up going to Insta Care on a Sunday morning! The docs there were quite intrigued with my predicament. They said, "This is really cool - well not for you, but..."

The Effects of No See'ems
