Caught on camera...

The boys "slept over" at Jack and Kathy's on the eve of Martin Luther King Day. They planned to stay awake all night, but Kathy caught Jace and Kendrick asleep at 4:00 AM.

Fast asleep!

Jackson and Dean share the loveseat.

Goin' Home

Check out Jace's over-night pack! It's as big as he is. When he slung it over his shoulder it almost knocked him down!

Jack shoveled all day long! And it's snowing still!

Lisa took this picture at the end of our driveway. The yellow brick home is just east of ours. That's a yotta snow!

What else was there to do?

The snow plows didn't come by until almost 8 PM - we were stuck at home! Lisa decided she was going to dress up and get out and play in the snow. She snapped this shot of herself out on our deck with about 16 inches of new snow!

Katelyn Saves for Family Gifts

The Boli got a picture taken with the animals they made at Build-a-Bear. (Katelyn is in the center with her koala.)

After 11-year-old Katelyn went to Build-a-Bear for a friend's birthday party in October of 2006, she decided that would be a fun thing for her family to do. She wanted to take the family for Christmas, but wasn't even close to the amount of money she would need. So, all year long, she saved. She baby sat, did extra chores and she saved everything she earned. She also saved money she got for her birthday in November until she had more than her goal of $200.

On December 20th, the Boli took a little pre-Christmas trip to SLC. They stayed two nights at the Shilo Inn, a few blocks away from Temple Square. The family went to a laser show at the planetarium, went rock climbing, took a carriage ride, saw Enchanted, and swam in the hotel pool, which was open 24 hours a day. On Friday, December 21st, they all went to Build-a-Bear and stuffed their very own animals - Katelyn's gift to each of them.

In the Beginning...

I have many family members who have recently started family blogs. I love to look at them! Blogging is a way of documenting family history with text and photographs and I think it's great! I've hesitated in the past to start a family blog because our family is so big and it would sadden me to leave someone out unintentionally. But, I think I'll take the risk and hope that I don't.

Our family has not had a photograph taken recently - not since the summer of 2006. We have another grandchild since that time and now another baby is on the way. Hopefully we'll get another picture taken this summer after the new baby is born.

I think I'll start by posting pictures and stories that were included in our family newsletter, The Ice Cream Scoop, in January of 2008. I will also post some pictures of important family events of the year 2007 - namely, the ordinations of our three oldest grandsons to the Aaronic Priesthood and the baptisms of two of our grandchildren.
