Marianne's Graduation

Marianne graduated from Kindergarten, and invited us to the program. Here she is in her pretty yellow skirt - probably the best singer in the whole show!

Young Ambassadors

We invited any of the family who wanted to go, to the Young Ambassadors' Concert at the Conference Center. We had a few takers. Amy actually went with us, but wasn't in the pics. The kids and Amy sat right close to the front, and some of the little kids were all but dancing in the aisles. They caught the eye of many of the cast, who came down and talked to them afterward.

From Mothers' Day 2009

I loved the gift they passed out on Mothers' Day last year at church. We stuck these little plants in the ground and they have grown and grown. They're planted in front, by our Arrington est. 1966 "monument." Very beautiful, I think!

Memorial Day 2010

Having just returned from Scotland, I had to get a photo of the bagpiper we saw as we pulled into the City Cemetery to visit the graves of the Arringtons, Grandma and Grandpa Grose, and our little Sara. The grass had grown over Sara's marker a bit, so Grandpa Jack cleaned it all off, then put some blossoms on it.
We decided to have a Memorial Day cookout for those who were still in town. Grandpa Jack cooked hamburgers and hot dogs and then we let the kids roast marshmallows to make S'mores.Jack always hangs our huge flag out front on major holidays. He asked two of the "almost Eagle Scouts" to fold it up at the end of the day.

Sounds of Time Friends and Family Show

Jenna, Jace and Jordan are all in Sounds of Time this year. Jordan is a hoot to watch. He gets into the music and dance and gives it all he's got. Jenna and Jace, of course, are very seasoned by now. It is so fun to go watch them perform! Dad always goes whenever he can. I'm sorry that I didn't get a pic with him and the kids!

Happy Birthday, Carson!

Carson picked the decorations for his 8-year birthday cake. He told his mom exactly what he wanted. I think it turned out great! His dad provided the photos for the action figures. Nice job! Yummy cake, too!
Grandpa Grose and Spencer watch and wait for Carson to make his birthday wish.

Haley's Dance Recital

My camera doesn't take very good action pics - and Haley's clogging group is full of action! It's the best part of the recital. They won a couple of competitions in the past year and they have a lot of fun!

Grandma's Wisteria

Our beautiful heirloom wisteria really put on the show this spring! It blossomed while I was in England, and got hit with a rainstorm that knocked off some of the blooms. But it was still gorgeous when I got home, so I snapped a photo of it for my blog.

Cornwall, England

We went to church in Saint Austell, then walked through the center of town. Hills, narrow roads and stone everything. We stopped by this bakery, which was recommended for its pasties - but it was closed for the Sabbath.
We drove to a cemetery where we saw lots of grave markers with the Grose and Rosevear names on them. We went into the old church there. Elaine gave a sermon and we took photographs. We drove through the Luxulyan Valley. It was so beautiful! We stopped at an old aqueduct for pictures. The area was like an enchanted forest!
We walked down into the Port of Saint Austell. We had lunch there at a tavern and some of us went to an old shipping museum. I loved the feel of the sea air!

Go, go girls!!!

Sharon and the girls ran in the Ogden Marathon today. They did a relay, and Lisa escorted Reagan on her leg. Pretty colorful bunch! Wish I had a picture of Lisa as well.

Ty Plays at Lindquist Field

The day before our trip to England, Jeff sent a text and said that Orion's baseball team was going to play at Lindquist Field. I couldn't pass up the chance to see that, so I put packing on hold and buzzed down to the ballpark. Such a beautiful venue! And Orion won the game! Here's Tyler at short stop, up to bat, getting instructions from his coach, and scoring. :o)

Happy Birthday Alli Jo!

Allison celebrated her birthday at the park this year. Loved the cute cake Jo made for her!
This is one of the coolest pictures I've ever taken! I just love the light in it - and the look on the girls' faces as Marianne reads Alli's birthday card to her. Love these kids!

Visiting Old Friends

We had some time to kill after we droped Danny and Dalena off at the airport and before our cousin dinner in SLC so we dedided to stop in and see Leonard and Wanda Rowley - our good neighbors of about 30 years, who moved to Bountiful. It was so nice to be able to visit with them and catch up on their family. Of course, they wanted to know all about our family too - and their old ward and neighborhood.

A Care Bear Birthday!

Since Danny's birthday is on the 6th of April, and he and Dalena were only in town until the 5th, we decided to celebrate a couple of days early. Joann HAD to make him a Care Bear cake. If you don't understand the significance, ask any of his siblings. The story is a classic! Happy birthday, Dan!

Grandpa's Cabin

Early in the spring, Dean asked Amy, "When are we going to go to Grandpa's cabin again?" It took her a few minutes and some questioning before she figured out that he meant the Stake Camp. That's where we had the family party the night before Danny and Dalena's wedding last August. So...we decided to schedule the camp again. Quite a few of the family were able to come - we had a blast!

Spring Tri-Fecta

There was a great turn-out for the Tri-Fecta. Brent and Leila provided pizza and everyone else brought pot-luck. We played games, did skits and, of course, we played Simon Says. Uncle Brent is ruthless!
